In Memoriam: Mark Jackson Wood

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Mark Wood, co-founder of BlueDAG and a steadfast leader in the accessibility community.

Mark’s contributions to accessibility were visionary, and his legacy runs deep within BlueDAG. His passion for equity, his dedication to education, and his relentless pursuit of greater access for all shaped the very foundation of our company.

Before BlueDAG, Mark helped launch CalCASp—an effort that began around a kitchen table and grew into an industry cornerstone. Together with his colleagues, Mark worked tirelessly to elevate accessibility training and advance the profession with heart, humor, and humility.

That sentiment reflects the Mark we knew—brilliant, kind, and unwavering in his purpose. Whether leading a workshop, mentoring others, or recording a podcast, Mark brought clarity and warmth to every endeavor.

As one industry peer reflected:

“[Mark] made a massive positive impact on our profession. I feel like we’ve lost a humble giant.”

A Celebration of Life will be held on June 7, 2025, at Plumas Lake Golf Course near Sacramento, CA.
